Our mission is to provide furnishings and household goods to help those most volunerable in our community as they seek to make their houses feel like homes. We fulfill our mission by collecting new and gently used household items that our dedicated volunteers organize to allow our clients the dignity of shopping for what they need.
Since 2018 we have helped 257 households with items like beds, couches, dinning room tables, pictures, linnens, dishes and so much love! We have also shared 7200 coats, backpacks and school supplies with local school children, countless meals and groceries, and hours of a listening ear to offer hope and encouragement.
We truly believe that greater Stark County has everything we need to ensure that no child, no senior citizen and no volunerable adult should go without having a bed and furniture in their house. But did you know......
Stark Housing Network's "Point in Time" count in January recorded 320 homeless individuals - 264 sheltered and 56 unsheltered - on the night of the count. That was an increase of 73 more people than the previous count in January 2022.
9,700 Stark County households spend more than half of their income on rent, leaving about 21% of all tenants at high risk for eviction
A child aging out of the foster care system often begins their journey to independent living without furniture, kitchen items and little more than a few bags of clothes
You could be the missing link for our families and could provide critical support by making a financial contribution, making a purchase from Charlotte and Main or by donating new and gently used furniture and household items.
